Travel Diaries: A if for Amsterdam

Hello my darlings,
In Sha Allah this will the be the beginning of many more travel diaries.  I must confess this is not my first time traveling to Amsterdam, it is actually my third. You might be thinking whats makes me keep going back? Mainly family, and how can I resist the city, it is beautiful. The architecture is what really makes me fall in the love with the city. The canal houses, are my favourite, the colours the sizes and the fact that they stand along the canals, its beautiful. Also its the city of the bikes, *nervous laugh,  I like bikes, just not getting hit by one whilst walking on the street. You would expect me have learnt by now, but still makes me nervous every time I return. Even though it is a bike city, I can spend countless hours walking around, its a clean city and that gets a big tick of approval from me.

This time around I popped into the Amsterdam apple store, which is in the historic Hirsch building, the store has the traditional look with the modern twist. The famous glass staircase in the building is stunning. I spent a good few minutes taking photos  climbing up and down the stairs *obsessed much?

Next, spent most of my time walking  the canals, honestly I can't get enough of the canals and the houses built around, its just a shame that I didn't take a lot of pictures.
I did like the bikes that look like they are strategically placed near the canals, they looked great for photos.

Say cheese, the cheese stores always have that farm like look to them.
The royal Palace of Amsterdam, you can not miss this place it dominates the central square in Amsterdam. Next time if I get the chance I would love to get a glimpse of the inside. It is one of the three palaces still used by the royal family, but it is also open to the public most of the year.

Dam Sqaure, there are a lot of things going on in the Dam Square, it reminds me of the street performers in  Covent Garden in London. My favourite was the pigeons *I'm a lover of animals.

I always visit other cities whilst in The Netherlands, and even though this post is about Amsterdam, I wanted to mention  another city I drove through. I was inside the city but didn't actually have the time to take time and wander and explore. Insha'Allah I will get the chance to next time. The city is called Naarden Vesting, it is built like a star fort, as you can see in the map image. The city itself reminds me of picturesque old village.
