The Ordinary Skincare

My skincare is something that I dont mess around with and take extremely seriously. I have always suffered from acne. It started in my early teens and has progressed into my adult life. However, now I suffer more from hormonal acne and a pimple or two. But my biggest problems is congested skin, and large pore. So I am always on the lookout for something that will improve my skin. The ordinary has been on my mental list of skincare that I have wanted to try. There has been a lot of hype around the ordinary skin care, and the price range makes it even more super!

I have researched extensively on the ordinary products to find something that will benefit my skin and what has worked for others with similar skin type. I didn't want to buy a lot of products, to be honest, I was extremely intimidated by the products which are used as treatments by the customers. So when I researched I found that people would use up to 3 different products for morning and evening. I wanted to start with baby steps and if I like the products, then purchase more.

So what did I choose?

Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Price: £5
I use this serum straight after I cleanse and tone my face, both morning and evening. I must say that it has been a game changer in my skincare regime, my skin looks and feels hydrated and actually glows. Hyaluronic acid has a unique ability to hold moisture. The serum is used to absorb moisture from your surrounding so it rehydrates the skin and absorbs any skincare product used after it. So it makes a perfect base for any skincare regime. It has a sticky texture to it, so its best to pat into the skin. I have combination skin, and the serum didn't make skin oily but worked well with the dry patches. I would definitely purchase it again.

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Price: £5

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is indicated to reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion. A high 10% concentration of this vitamin is supported in the formula by zinc salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid to balance visible aspects of sebum activity.

I use the Niacinamide serum both in the morning and evening after the hyaluronic acid. After 2 months of using it, my pimples have decreased, I no longer get huge pimples on my face, even my hormonal acne has decreased and I no longer get it. The only times I get pimples is if break my clean eating routine, and start eating junk food. What it didnt do is helping with my congested skin, which is what I was hoping for. My acne scars became less and faded quiker than it usually does which was a plus. I am going to be honest, I am not 100% sure if I would purchase it again, I didn't hate it, however, I dont love it either and sometimes found myself skipping it in my skincare regime when I was too tired to use it. But I would always use the Hyaluronic Acid.

Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Price: £5
I loved this moisturizer and found that even though it is thick it works keeping my skin moisturized without leaving a greasy residue, and keeps my skin hydrated. I didn't find it clogging my pores either which is s a major plus for me. It also gives an excellent matt finish. I would purchase this again.

After trying these products I have already started looking at other skin treatments the ordinary have to offer and I have selected a few that I would love to try including the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution and Lactic Acid.
